Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing the program for the class in accordance with the policies, guidelines, frameworks and philosophy of MindChamps PreSchool.
Supervise children as mutually agreed with the Teacher during the morning drop-off or the pick-up, during snack and lunch time, while on the playground and at the toilet.
Meet with the Teacher once a week to assist with planning, share ideas and exchange feedback, and with the entire team once a month or at the beginning of a Unit of Inquiry.
Prepare age and developmentally appropriate teaching aids.
Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to work and play in.
Evaluate and maintain records of children’s development.
To render basic first aid as and when necessary.
Be responsible for the upkeep of teaching resources.
File children’s papers into portfolios or student progress files as directed by teacher.
Assist with enrichment sessions, organise cooking supplies and assist teachers with cooking activities.
Use positive discipline techniques at all times.
Ensure that the teacher is aware of all notes in the Connection Book before lunchtime each day.
Being responsible for the arrangement, appearance, decorations, and learning environment of the classroom.
Attend all meetings and professional development sessions and participate on committees and activity teams as required. Attendance is mandatory.
Attend teaching courses, seminars and workshops to upgrade skills and knowledge.
Display a positive, work cooperatively with other members and assist new teachers and assistants with settling in to MindChamps PreSchool.
Job Requirements:
Certificate /Fresh Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education – Teaching (DECCE-T)
Creative and inspiring with loving energy
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Knowledge in educational development / cognitive psychology
